Rede Feto Women’s Network East Timor. Rede Feto Timor Leste is a national network for 24 women’s organizations who are connecting, informing, and supporting people and organizations to improve the lives of women and girls, and advance gender equality and women’s rights for sustainable development in Timor Leste. In 2013, Rede Feto women entrepreneurs Timor Leste participated in the 4th National Women’s Congress. This year the IV National Congress of Women in Timor Leste is dedicated to the aspirations of Timorese women for the future of the country and their own role as part of it. The event takes place in Baucau, the second most important city of the country, and is attended by women and experts from the Manatuto, Lautem and Viqueque districts.

The Ai-Funan Green Entrepreneurs of Timor Leste. In 2005 a group of Canossan Sisters in Timor-Leste who run a women’s training program there, sent one of their students to attend a program in the Philippines, where she learned soap making. In 2006 through the sponsorship of the Rotary Club in Melbourne, Australia, a small Timorese woman’s enterprise named “Sabaun Timor” was created to make soaps from locally grown ingredients and sell them to the domestic market.
In the fall of 2011, The Hummingfish Foundation (THF) joined the ladies in a rebranding, marketing and distribution effort called Ai-Funan, Green Entrepreneurs of Timor Leste, which aims at selling their soaps primarily to the high-end export market.
